Sorry my bum finger posted before finishing lesson:
Prov. 22:28 " Don't cheat your neighbor by moving the ancient boundary markers set up by previous generations."
Land was a very important to the Jewish family. It could only be taken until the Year of Jubilee (50) years then it was to be returned to the family.
This was God's way of protecting the family from an evil land Barron or a foolish elderly son.
The Jewish culture emphasized the sense of public trust & fairness in order for the culture to function. We see this referred to in Deut. 19:14; 27:17.
Land marks were posted by a large pile of rocks. So to move it, was for certain intentional not accidental.
Jude 3 compares the importance of physical landmarks to fundamental doctrines of Christianity.
Today there are many folks who are attempting to move spiritual boundaries & borders, with new revelations, we must be cautious when this is attempted. There are solid boundaries given to us concerning Biblical interpretations, both individually & corporately. This will be clarified later in Prov. 23:10-11.
So Go With God for He places values on human honor, respect, and ownership. He guides us in these values, and confirms them as worthy of our concerns.
