Good Wednesday to you. So What has a lot more letters than the alphabet? Give up, we’ll It’s the post office. Oh well!!!

Our meditation for today is found in

Prov. 16:14 “The anger of the king is a deadly threat; the wise will try to appease it.”

Rather than this being a statement about the king, this is more a word of wisdom. Speaking to the idea that we should strive to be persuasive and tender with our words rather than offensive.

Anyone can be offensive, it takes no effort at all. Here’s a question for you to ponder, In our world today have you found words of persuasion, and kindness the prominent theme or offensive words to be the dominant expression?

Solomon and God are encouraging our words to be spoken in such a way of persuasiveness, and kindness in just the way we would talk to an important dignitary.

So also other kings, or dignitaries speech should be flavored with words of reason & gentleness regardless of who he is speaking too.

Our Father sets this example in James 1:17 “Whatever good and

perfect is a gift coming down to us from God our Father, who created all the lights in the heavens. He never changes or casts a shifting shadow.“

So Go With God in the way you speak your words, may they be peculiar (unique in their gentleness) in order that they may bring blessing, encouragement and kindness to our world. I am afraid that our world has become a place of anger, hurt and even harm due to words spoken in passing without regard for the possible influence they place on our world.

Had such an encounter with a young lady at the pharmacy yesterday. My meds had been delayed and I was without them for several days. As well as being important they cost a lot. So in my frustration I grumbled about it, she was sympathetic and helpful with a cheerful manner. I could not help but compliment her and tell her she was a bright light on a dismal day. I apologized to her and she said "that's what I'm here for". She will go a long way with that attitude! Leaving I was in a much better frame of mind then when I came in.🤗
