Which fast food chain made famous the saying, “Where’s the beef?” Was it McDonald’s; Arbys; KFC; or Wendy’s ? Well if you guessed Wendy’s you were right.
Prov. 24:25,26 “But those who rebuke the wicked will have delight, And a good blessing will come upon them. He who gives a right answer kisses the lips.”
This warning is primarily focused on those people found in leadership, however, it is a principle laid out for everyone. Remember the ultimate definition of wicked - those who hate God and seek to bring harm to those who honor Him.
Going back to the verse now, those who hold the wicked up to the standard of truth, will be admired by all people, and most importantly to God. To allow those who oppose truth & right living; to be given honor & preference, will ultimately face disdain, and disrespect in both the present but for sure in the days to come.
The leader who upholds truth & honesty will ultimately be honored & respected by others who place value on truth. The extent that they express their adoration is seen by their willingness to entertain a kiss not just on the cheek, but on the lips.
Blessings and approvals are expressed in many ways, but especially in words of affirmation & physical signs of endearment. We are living in a day where, anger, harshness, and hurt is given many forms of approval, however, if we are observant, we will notice, that when someone in authority upholds truth & fairness, the approval of the many beforehand silent people, will come powerfully evident.
So Go With God for when we stand in righteousness, He will shower blessings and strength on us. In a day where evil, dishonesty, and unfair treatment is rampant, stand up be counted; for truthfulness and righteousness and He will uphold our courage.
His truth is marching on!
