Trivia:
Well our trivia of yesterday was ; What year did Apple introduce the first IPOD? The correct answer is 2001, And the first song ever played using ITunes, was a house-music dance tune called "Groovejet" (If This Ain't Love)
How about this bit of trivia: What household item weighs more after ten years? Your sofa; Your front door; Your mattress; Your refrigerator. Make your guess.
Challenge:
Psalm 48:9-11 "O God, we meditate on your unfailing love as we worship in your Temple. 10 As your name deserves, O God, you will be praised to the ends of the earth. Your strong right hand is filled with victory. 11 Let the people on Mount Zion rejoice. Let all the towns of Judah be glad because of your justice."
These next few verses lay out for us just what our daily time of meditation should entail.
Reflecting on the many ways that God has proven out His unfailing love for us
Lifting up praise for His daily desire to bring victory into our life
Thanksgiving for His strength that is daily demonstrated in our lives
Rejoicing in the fact that He will gladly bring justice to our lives
Let's practice that this morning:
What is one way that God has demonstrated His love in our lives?
Now that we have landed on one way that our loving God has proven His love for us
Let's express our praise for His loving works to someone in your life (by letters, email, cards, etc.)
Next lets give Him thanks through our prayer time today (tell Him just how much you appreciate His presence in your life
Now pick out a song that tells of one of the ways that He has declared His justice in your life (maybe start with His payment, cleansing for your sins)
Now this week as we gather at church let's; sing out; speak out; pray out; call out; to each other and ?Him
Don't just be a sponge soaking in all of this good that He has brought to your life--rather also pour out some of those daily blessing that we have received.
I would intensely encourage you to go to the movie theater and watch "The Forge". Now my promise to you is if that movie does not touch your mind, heart, and soul and bring out these same emotions that we just meditated about this morning. I will give you the cost of the movie if you weren't moved by the message of that story.
SO GO WITH GOD my dear one, for "He has made us glad". So my blessed one, "rejoice in Him today."
We can never out give God's working in our life. As the movie says, "Determine to be a fountain, not just a drain."
