Happy Monday, Have you ever thought, Does he/she even have a brain? Well, in fact which of these animals doesn't have a brain? Is it a Seahorse; Jellyfish; Crab; Or Sharks? Here's a hint: They move by squirting water. I will tell you the correct answer.

Please pray for Jo, she was under the weather yesterday, we missed you, and your vibrant worship to our Savior.

Monday 1/23

Prov. 27:12 "A prudent person foresees danger and takes precautions. The simpleton goes blindly on and suffers the consequences."

The word simpleton is in the Hebrew pethi referring to someone who is naive and gullible, one who falls into temptation out of ignorance or obliviousness. This word is used several times in Proverbs:

Prov. 7:7 "I saw some naive young men, and one in particular who lacked common sense."

Prov. 22:3 "... The simpleton goes blindly on and suffers the consequences."

There are several instances in the Bible where this idea of being prudent was applauded:

Gen. 7: 1 Noah was prudent and built the ark and then hid his family in the ark

Exodus 12 Israelites were prudent - they sprinkled blood on the door posts & evaded the death angel

Believers are prudent by finding refuge in Christ from the judgements of sin both now & eternally

This verse contrasts the prudent & the simple

The prudent person is aware of danger and avoids it

The simple person may even recognize danger but fails to take steps to avoid its consequences

Prudent is translated arum meaning wisely shrewd, this word is used in Job 5:12; 15:5 also in Prov. 12:16; 12:23; 13:16; 14:8; 14:15; 14:18; 22:3; 27:12

Simple translated peti meaning naive, untaught in the ways of danger

One of the benefits of church attendance is that we are enlisted in avoiding danger personally & we are activated to steer others away from this prominent danger as well.

I'm sure that you have heard this said, "The book of Revelation is such a hard book to understand I just skip its teachings." But the very reason that we should read, study, and strive to understand it, aside from the fact that at the beginning & end of the book is promised blessings, but also in order to help us recognize the evil of the coming age and be warned to hide ourselves & those around us in the Lord. His salvation is the only protection from the coming judgement.

So Go With God for He will protect us from being duped by Satan & His allies; the world, and the flesh.
