Trivia:
Way to go Lindsay, the answer to our trivia question was our breathe.
Here is another riddle for you to figure out. The more it dries, the wetter it gets. Now what is it?
Challenge:
Psalm 5:9 "My enemies cannot speak a truthful word. Their deepest desire is to destroy others. Their talk is foul, like the stench from an open grave. Their tongues are filled with flattery."
The Psalmist describes his enemies in four ways:
They speak continually in lies
Their continual intention is to destroy
Their conversation is as detestable as rotting flesh
They use flattering words to gain access to others trust
All of these traits are detestable to God, and are prone to bring an early end and a sure destruction to these deceitful individuals. The words of this speaker gives out nothing that can be recognized as reliable in any way. He lives as the saying goes, "You can't believe a word he says." because their motives are totally corrupt and as it were are bent on destruction. To top it off, they are intent on insincere flattery.
In the New Testament, Paul used these same traits to describe the depraved person. Romans 3:13 "Their talk is foul, like the stench from an open grave. Their tongues are filled with lies." "Snake venom drips from their lips."
How sad it must be to have this impact on life to be so defiled that you find yourself described in this way. Imagine the shame to end up with your reputation being described in this way. The consequence of a life with these motives is a legacy of disdain, and disappointment.
SO GO WITH GOD my dear one and your life intentions will be found devoid of these actions. In fact your life will bring benefit and blessings to others.
