Trivia:

Good guesses everyone, however, the the U.S. president who had no biological children was George Washington. He raised two step children who were Martha's children after he married her in 1759. She was a widow with two children who he raised asa his own upon marriage.

What does "deja vu" translate to in English? Already seen; Unchangeable; Allow to do; I will be there?

Challenge:

Psalm 102:12-17 "But you, O Lord, will sit on your throne forever. Your fame will endure to every generation. 13 You will arise and have mercy on Jerusalem--and now is the time to pity her, now is the time you promised to help. 14 For your people love every stone in her walls and cherish even the dust in her streets. 15 Then the nations will tremble before the Lord. The kings of the earth will tremble before His glory. 16 For the Lord will rebuild Jerusalem. He will appear in His glory. 17He will listen to the prayers of the destitute. He will not reject their pleas."

In this section of Psalm 102 the writer declares two things: His confidence in the sovereign power of Yahweh; secondly in the fact that the Lord will mercifully hear and answer the prayers of of thge afflicted.

We notice the turn of thinking, from being overwhelmed by his troubles, to his looking up, and suddenly responding with His gracious Father's promise of hope in the middle of the intense storm.

It is as though the writer had forgotten who was his Heavenly Father, and the fact that He "The Lord, will endure forever." Then suddenly he reflects on all of the ways that their God, and our God will intently listen to our prayers and respond in answer for them.

So the promise that we have to hold onto: (verse 16,17) "He (the Lord) will appear in His glory. He will listen to the prayers of (even) the destitute. He will not reject their pleas." At the very least, He will respond to save His children upon His return to the earth, if not sooner.

Notice: The structure of the poem is (1) a cry to the Lord for deliverance (vs. 1,2) (2) a description of the groanings brought about by guilt (vs. 3-7) (3) a description of suffering that results from the laughter of our enemies (vs. 8-11) (4) praise to the Lord who rises to answer our prayer (vs. 12-17) (5) praise to the Lord who stoops to the needs of His children (vs. 18-22) (6) a petition to the Lord to renew the strength of His servant (vs. 23-28)

Here the Psalmist anticipates a time when the Lord will reign over all nations, but his prayer is also directed for God's answer to his cry for deliverance in this present day.

SO GO WITH GOD for He truly has the future in mind, but He has not forgotten our needs for His working in this present day. We can hold onto the promise that our present experience will result in future reward, but that as we endure and obey, and call upon His working in our present day He will meet our needs for this time in our life, but at the same time will not result in anything but blessings for us and our future generations.
