Wow, who would EVER believe it?????
It’s Tuesday and on a lighter note, Why was the broom late for school? Yes that’s right; It overswept! Ha ha
Well believe it or not our meditation is found in Prov. 21:2 “People may be right in their own eyes, but the Lord examines their heart.”
Well this verse points out a very important thought.
Regardless of our level of earthly importance; Everyone is ultimately responsible to God.
We may attempt to explain away, or justify our actions, however, we are each one responsible to answer to God.
He is the only one qualified to judge the inner motives of each one of us.
The heart is considered the center, or seat of each person’s character. Read 1 Sam. 16:7 then Look at what God told Samuel the high priest, who before the time of the kings was the ultimate ruler of Israel. “… The Lord doesn’t see things the way you see them. People judge by outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart.”
In other words, someone may defend their actions, life, or even manner of thought, but the final evaluation belongs to God.
We can be easily become self-deceived, but God will guide us away from confusion if we will allow His Spirit to control our inner desires.
The Bible tells us that ignorance, or confusion are not an adequate reason for doing wrong.
Prov. 24:12 “God will guard our
soul” if we allow it.
Solomon warns us to be cautious when it comes to our motivations, for we will be repaid for our evil intent, should we walk in that way.
Sadly, as we study the rule of the various kings of Israel, we are easily made aware of this life lesson. To guide ourselves & others away from our loving God’s instruction will result in harm & loss to all. (Including those we love)
So Go With God and He has
promised to “guard our soul” not just our present earthly body, but our eternal existence.
The next few verses in this chapter gives us clarification on His clear, concise instructions for us. Be sure to tune in for the next few posts. Our Father loves us and doesn’t want us to be harmed as a result of our our confusion, ignorance or even our willful rebellion.
Such great insight. Many people today only live for the here and now and don't think about eternity and all that they will be held accountable for. I pray that they realize this before they leave this world, and that our good and gracious Lord has mercy on them 🙏
