Trivia:
Well you made some good guesses everyone, but the stone lions in front of the New York Public Library are called, Patience and Fortitude. The two character qualities are definitely needed for learning.
Challenge:
Psalm 25:11-22 "For the honor of your name, O Lord, forgive my many, many sins. Who are those who fear the Lord? He will show them the path they should choose. They will live in prosperity, and their children will inherit the land. The Lord is a friend to those who fear Him. He teaches them His covenant. My eyes are always on the Lord, for He rescues me from the traps of my enemies. Turn to me and have mercy, for I am alone and in deep distress. My problems go from bad to worse. Oh save me from them all! Feel my pain and see my trouble. Forgive all my sins. See how many enemies I have and how viciously they hate me! Protect me! Rescue my life from them! Do not let me be disgraced, for in you I take refuge. May integrity and honesty protect me, for I put my hope in you. O God, ransom Israel from all its troubles.
Here we see the writer describe the many benefits that His children gain upon their following His ways, and seeking deliverance and protection from Him.
In verse 16-21 David shares 10 rapid fire prayer requests, see if you can find them in this passage, then give thanks for His faithfulness in answering them in our lives. Oh how gracious He is in our lives, here we see David's needs being met by the only one who could possibly meet these many needs, but in fact He accomplished answering each of them in his and the nations stead. Just He faithfully meets our needs on a daily basis.
Surely, Great is Your faithfulness, O, Lord, You daily fulfill your promises to each of us, and we can only desire to do as we began this meditation with in verse 11, to honor your name, before our world.
SO GO WITH GOD for He alone has answers to our needs, and He alone desires meeting our lifes needs. He alone shows us the right path to choose (12) He alone promises to guide us to prosperity (13) He alone causes our children to inherit a land beyond the life (13b) He alone promises to be our friend (14a) He alone teaches us the best ways to live (14b) He alone steers me away from the traps that my enemies strive to destroy my life with (15).
Due to all of these requests that you faithfully fulfill each and every day in my life, as verse 21 says "I put my hope in you." For you alone are worthy of our trust.
