Well happy Monday so glad you decided to begin a new week. Do you know why elephants don’t like playing cards in the jungle? Well it’s really quite simple, because of all the cheetah’s there. Ha ha they just keep slinkin’ around.
Our meditation for today is found in Prov. 20:13 “Do not love sleep, lest you come to poverty, Open your eyes, and you will be satisfied with bread.”
This passage addresses two things:
1) The extreme of putting off
needed effort
2) The benefits of a productive
purposeful life
This book is full of contrasts of
the benefits of work over
procrastination:
Prov. 10:4 Work brings financial
benefits
Prov. 10:4 putting it off brings
poverty
Prov. 10:26 Working brings
refreshment to others
—Putting off work brings
irritation to all those
around them
Prov. 12:24 Work brings a person to
leadership & benefits
—Results in slavery &
bondage
Prov. 13:4 Work brings benefits of
helpfulness rather than
hopelessness
—Brings jealousy &
covetous thinking
Prov. 15:19 Productive living opens a life of opportunity
—Causes a life of road
blocks, uselessness
These are just a few of the comparisons, we see in God’s instruction to us.
In a nut shell this is the instruction we learn. Look for ways to be productive in life and your life will be enriched and others will be blessed in the wake of your efforts as well.
So Go With God the result will be enlightened eyes, He will guide you to ways of refreshment for others. Becky has been organizing the many pictures of our life memories & the result has been that our hearts have been reminded of the many blessings we have accidentally enjoyed.
We have had to stop & joy in the many people who we have had the joy of knowing, working together with, and share in our lives together. We can never say that we have lived our lives in loneliness. For to say that would be an
Absolute lie. We have been blessed with so much to rejoice in & the root of all that joy has been our loving Heavenly Father. Surely, Great things He had done.
Thank you! So true in looking back at all the blessings, ones God very intentionally allowed us to have, we are so grateful!
