Trivia:

Which state do you think has an underwater canyon as large as the size of the Grand Canyon? Is it California, or Utah, maybe New Mexico, or possibly Wisconsin? Make your guess.

Challenge:

Ecclesiastes 7:19

"One wise person is stronger than ten leading citizens of a town!"

Here we are encouraged to rather than put our trust in great might (visible strength), or even skill of words, we should more importantly put our confidence in the wisdom that comes from God. In other words, wisdom is greater than armed might. In fact, we know from the Bible's accounts that God is not necessarily on the side of the largest battalions. Examples: David VS Goliath, Israel 's Priests VS the fortified city of Jericho, etc, etc.

We are reminded that true wisdom comes from us fearing the LORD God, putting our trust in human strength is the folly of fools. Psalm 111:10 says, "The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom: a good understanding have all they that do his commandments: his praise endureth for ever."

Of all the teachers in Sunday School in my childhood, my favorite teacher was Mrs. Nealy. She had the uncanny ability to put her teaching of the Bible into the mind of a child. Most of our church folk didn't appreciate her simple skill of teaching children in a way that they never forgot her lesson. She was discounted because of her use of "yous-in's" & "us-in's" which came from her upbringing in Georgia. But her ability to captivate our minds for that hour of Sunday School was not forgotten. I remember when I was supposed to promote out of her class, I begged my dad to let me stay one more year. Since he was the superintendent, he approved my request.

Later, upon my urgent request when Dad and Mom were Child Evangelism Directors, he asked Mrs. Nealy to teach a class for all the trainees each year. She always began her lesson with an earnest cry out to God for His wisdom, then she would tell the lesson in storybook fashion. Even as a teenager I was again captivated by her simple style of teaching. I will forever remember her style of teaching as a child, I would lose track of time and when she finished her lesson I was saddened for it to be over.

SO GO WITH GOD, for He will speak through our dependence on Him. Oh, my dear one, rest in Him for a deeper understanding of His enrichment in our life. Tomorrow I'll tell you about Mr. Parr and his life lessons on the many blessings of trusting in God.
