Trivia:
Which bird is often described as being wise? Hawk; Eagle; Toucan; Owl? Make a guess.
On the lighter side: When I was growing up my teacher told me that I would never amount to much because I procrastinate so much. I told her, "Just you wait!"
Challenge:
Psalm 4:4 "Be not angry, and do not sin. Meditate within your heart on your bed, and be still."
This truth of not allowing what would normally drive you to become angry or to bring hurt and harm to your life, is such an important lesson that we see it quoted in Ephesians 4:26.
Have you ever been tempted to the point that you have allowed your anger to take control of your actions? Have you then done something that resulted in you falling into the sin of rebelling against God?
Well if you have, this verse is for us, because I know it has caused me to fall prey to this temptation. I could list the times over the years, where this has happened. How bout you?
Well our Lord is giving us the perfect solution, to this tendency. STOP, then reflect on your feelings, and then go to God. Even to the point of mulling over this circumstance over night. You see many times problems can overcome what your body needs, rest. Then your brain can't stop your body from comitting harmful actions.
You may be thinking what is the benefit of stopping overnight? Well you see your brain doesn't need to stop, it works all the time, but your body needs rest. So when we rest our body and let reason take over, we usually come to a more reasonable solution.
That procedure can cause our Lord to bring about the best conclusions. This process allows the opposing party to also come to a better position as well. I know many heated conversations lead our founding fathers in the establishing of the constitution, This has guided our country for hundreds of years. Several of these men spoke of the times that they stopped in this process and to take a break to pray, and meditate, and then return for much better results.
SO GO TO GOD for His guidance in this verse will bring the best results in the many coming challenges in our life.
