Good morning family it’s another day and thank you for praying for Chris yesterday I know that the trip was painful for him please continue to pray for his healing. Let‘s look at 1 John 2:21 “So I am writing to you not because you don’t know the truth but because you know the difference between truth and lies. And who is a liar? Anyone who says that Jesus is not the Christ. ... but anyone who acknowledges the Son has the Father also.
The common philosophy of our day is “It doesn’t make any difference what you believe, just as long as you are sincere.” Unfortunately many believers have become convinced that this thought process is OK as long as you are serious in your belief. But John stands in stark contrast to this thinking. Vs 26 he says “I am writing these things to you (only trusting in Jesus as Savior can save) “To warn you about those who want to lead you astray.”
Sincerity is the key ingredient to eternal life, wrong and that’s why he says in verse 25 “In this fellowship (our total trust in the Father & the Son for salvation) we enjoy the eternal life He promised us.” Not Jesus plus ... but only Jesus. So we must be kept away from the philosophies of our day -- truth always wins over sincerity In God’s realm.
Vs 27 says... “What He teaches is true — it is not a lie. So just as He taught you, remain in fellowship with Christ.” The believers were caught up with the details of the Jewish law and the seeming that sincerity that adherence to it seemed to prove. But John said I t’s not about sincerity it’s about who we put our trust in. The Son of God or in the traditions of man?? John assures us that it is in our “Fellowship with Christ” That is why Martin L. King said We must accept finite disappointment but never lose infinite hope. Keep the FAITH (in Christ not in religious form) Love you
