Trivia:
Well though this is not true this week due to hurricanes, The Sunshine City in Floridas is usually recognized as St. Petersburg.
This trivia question comes from Brenda. When did the term "Uncle Sam" begin to be used for a figurative term for the United States? The War of 1812; World War 1; OR World War 2 ? More tomorrow!
Challenge:
Psalm 68:9- "You sent abundant rain, O God, to refresh the weary land. 10 There your people finally settled, and with a bountiful harvest, O God, you provided for your needy people. 11 The Lord gives the word, and a great army brings good news. 12 Enemy kings and their armies flee, while the women of Israel divide the plunder. 13 Even those who lived among the sheepfolds found treasures--doves with wings of silver and feathers of gold. 14 The Almighty scattered the enemy kings like a blowing snowstorm on Mount Zalmon. 15 The mountains of Bashan are majestic, with many peaks stretching high into the sky. 16 Why do you look with envy, O rugged mountains, at Mount Zion, where God has chosen to live, where the Lord himself will live forever? "
This section of verses tells the story of God's many provisions for His chosen people.
Not only does God care for His children but He even cares for the land that He had created for them to live on, be provided by and more important to draw joy from.
Next He offered a place that they could live and call home, and after a small investment of time and labor could harvest the crops they had planted and God hands caused to prosper, by sunshine, rain, and nutrients from the soil. Then they could enjoy the blessing of sharing the result of their (them & God) with others who needed their expression of care from them & God.
Then in verse 11 ,12 they were reminded of God's assistance in the efforts of war, and the ability to divide the plunder that He had passed on to them.
Verse 13,14 brings a reminder of God's provisions that's He passed on to shepherds in the field, and even the doves in the field, were benefited by the grain that the shepherd shares with his sheep, as well as, the victory the the Lord blew their way in battle.
Finally he reflects on the beauty and majesty of the mountains which God created and also enjoys the place of beauty, blessing and honor, not just now. but for forever.
SO GO WITH GOD for He promises us a place of glory, honor, joy, and communion with all believers and Himself for eternity. So my dear one remember to take joy in this promise, for the struggles, and tests of life will not last forever, and He will scatter His moments of joy, and blessing in this life as well, an ultimate place of continuous blessing.
I at first guessed 1812 but probably was WWI.
