Trivia:
Happy Thursday, our trivia yesterday was asking you to tell us what state the city of 'Fries" is found in and the correct state is drum roll, wait for it, Yes it is found in the state of Virginia. Well to clarify how the city name is pronounced it actually rhymes with "breeze" and the city got its name from the cotton mill owner, Francis Henry Fries.

Psalm 77:4-9 "You don't let me sleep. I am too distressed even to pray! 5 I think of the good old days, long since ended, 6 when my nights were filled with joyful songs. I search my soul and ponder the difference now. 7 Has the Lord rejected me forever? Will He never again be kind to me? 8 Is His unfailing love gone forever? Have his promises permantly failed? 9 Has God forgotten to be gracious? Has He slammed the door on His compassion."
Have you ever faced a time of depression in your life? A time when it seemed that no matter which way you turned there was no way out?
Well this Psalm begins with these exact feelings.
An inability to escape from these present troubles or even to be able to sleep
A time where even the thought of prayer escapes you, where you feel that God wouldn't hear you
even if you did pray
You could only remember the times when life seemed so simple and so easy to enjoy
Then you stop to ponder what did I do wrong?
Have I caused God to reject me? To turn His love from me? To withdraw His grace from me?
Then in verse 11 He remembered the many times that God helped him through, the many ways that He had carried him through the past troubles in his life, and the times that He worked in mighty ways.
SO GO WITH GOD for He will carry you through these times of hardship. He will not fail to uphold you. He will indeed hear and answer your prayers. And most of all face these times head on recognizing that God is with you and will guide you througfh these struggles.
