Trivia:

Well believe it or not the Empire State Building was originally built as an airship docking. However, due to the massive size of these ships and the strong winds in that area, the building was abandoned for that use today. Due to so many airship disasters this ended the plans for commercial transport of passenger travel in this fashion.

Who made famous the song "Hey Jude" in the 1960's famous? Led Zepplin; Pink Floyd; The Rolling Stones; The Beatles?

Challenge:

Psalm 89:27-37 "I will make him my firstborn son, the mightiest king on earth. 28 I will love him and be kind to him forever; my covenant with him will never end. 29 I will preserve an heir for him; his throne will be as endless as the days of heaven. 34 No, I will not break my covenant; I will not take back a single word I said. 35 I have sworn an oath to David, and in my holiness I cannot lie: 36 His dynasty will go on forever; his kingdom will endure as the sun. 37 It will be as eternal as the moon, my faithful witness in the sky!"

When our Loving Father spoke of David and Israel as His first born son, he was reminding us of the special place that He gave to them. First they were given a double portion of the inheritance.

(Genesis 27:2)

We see this special honor dedicated to Israel in the same way that Christ was given this status over all creation in Colossians 1:15 "Christ is the visible image of the invisible God. He existed before anything was created and is supreme over all creation."

According to verse 33 though He needed to severely punish David's descendants they none the less were as sure of God's care for them for all time as the existence of the sun and moon. It is God's steadiness and faithfulness that keeps strong in our faith, not how good we're doing. These covenant promises of "I'll never leave you nor forsake you"; "Nothing can separate you from the love of God."

Hebrews 12:24 declares this covenant to be eternal. "You have come to Jesus, the one who mediates the new covenant between God and people, and to the sprinkled blood, which speaks of forgiveness instead of crying out for vengeance like the blood of Abel." The blood of Jesus washed away our sin.
