Wow have we had rain & snow this last month? We prayed for a way out of the drought we have been in, and God has answered us with His bounty. How blessed we are in so many ways.

Prov. 12:9-11 says “Better to be an ordinary person with a servant than to be self-important but have no food... A hard worker has plenty of food, but a person who chases fantasies has no sense.”

By an ordinary person Solomon means common, farmer, or a nobody by the wealthy’s standards & by servant he means a share cropper. This was usually someone who had gotten into debt and was working his way out. This relationship would point out the ordinary person spoken of was a compassionate person, one who made a way for the servant to get back on his feet. (Humble)

Person pretending to be important (proud) while starving and refusing to work a common job. Saw it as beneath him.

Verse 11 continues the thought of a willingness to work regardless of the job, that provides our needed food. God had spoken over and over the importance (value) of being industrious in our life. He partners with those who work in this life.

Lesson: Regardless of the duty we find ourselves responsible

for, we are to put our

whole effort into it as unto

God, and He will provide

for us & beyond.

So Go with God and He will bring blessings into our life and ultimately honor as well. Remember we are working for Him in all we do. That is what makes our work important.
