Trivia:
Way to go everyone, you got our last trivia right. How long is a fortnight? 2 weeks
Here is another question. "God works in mysterious ways", is a saying found in the book of Proverbs. True or False?
Challenge:
Psalm 18:18-30 "... But the Lord supported me. He led me to a place of safety; He rescued me because He delights in me. The Lord rewarded me for doing right; He restored me because of my innocence.
For I have kept the ways of the Lord; I have followed his regulations; I have never abandoned His decrees. I am blameless before God; I have kept myself from sin. The Lord rewarded me for doing right. He has seen my innocence.
~~To the faithful you show yourself faithful; to those with integrity you show integrity. To the pure you show yourself pure, but to the crooked you show yourself shrewd. You rescue the humble, but you humiliate the proud. You light a lamp for me. The Lord, my God, lights up my darkness. In your strength I can crush and army; with God I can scale any wall.God's way is perfect. ~~
All the Lord's promise prove true. He is a shield for all who look to him for protection."
Verse 20-24 the third section of verses reflects on Yom Kippur, once a year on The Day of Atonement, the high priest would enter the Holy of Holies. In preparation he would remove all of his priestly garb and cleanse himself before the Lord. Then he would enter in a plain linen garment and sacrifice an offering on the mercy seat, in remembrance of Christ who will on day bring cleansing to His children.
He then would return to the crowd who were waiting to be assured that their sins had been atoned for. Then they would make a praise offering and rejoice in Christ's sacrifice for their sin. This resulted in an extensive celebration.
In the same way when we come before the Lord in humility and recognition of our sins, He graciously reminds us that His sacrifice on the cross has paid the penalty for our sin. We have been forgiven and cleansed by His death of the cross, and then the third day He arose in evidence and celebration of His cleansing work for us is complete.
SO GO WITH GOD for He alone is able to bring cleansing and forgiveness for our sinful state. As verse 30 says, "All the Lord's promises prove true. He is our shield". So walk courageously, and stand strong in the works of God for us. He is our protector, our provider, and our cleanser. Joy in His cleansing and forgiveness my dear saint. For together we are reminded of His gracious salvation He has poured out for us, not because of anything we are capable of other than humble thanksgiving for His sacrifice offered for us. Remember, "The Lord, my God, lights up my darkness."
False, but seems true
