Trivia:

Happy Monday my friends and Thanksgiving week. Good guess everyone as you all knew Fitzgerald was President John Kenedy's middle name.

What year was the first patent applied for the computer mouse? I was surprised by this one. Was it 1960's; 1970's; 1950's; 1980's.

Challenge:

Psalm 82:1-8 "God presides over the heaven's court; He pronounces judgement on the heavenly beings: 2 How long will you hand down unjust decisions by favoring the wicked. 3 Give justice to the poor and the orphan; uphold the rights of the oppressed and the destitute. 4 Rescue the poor and helpless; deliver them from the grasp of evil people. 5 But these oppressors know nothing; they are so ignorant! They wander about in darkness, while the whole world is shaken to the core. 6 I say, "You are gods; you are children of the Most High. 7 But you will die like mere mortals and fall like every other ruler." 8 Rise up, O God, and judge the earth, for all the nations belong to you.

This Psalm opens up the scene with God calling the world leaders together and pointing out the injustices that tyranny brings to mankind. In this passage it is reminding these leaders of the condemnation that will come onto those who unjustly rule over His created beings.

These world leaders represent the human leaders; judges, kings, legislators, and presidents. (Exodus 22:8,9; Judges 5:8,9) Then they are reminded of just how that He the eternal God presides over them, and that He requires the Mosaic Law to be the standard of justice.

In verse 5 He reminds them of how many of these leaders rather than calling themselves to the level of His justice, they follow after intellectual ignorance and corrupt inequity. Then He reminds them of the common injustice and its unstable direction that is provided by them.

In verse 6 He is quoting John 10:34 by saying "You are gods" speaking of the thoughts that men have the tendency to reason about their position of authority. However, He reminds them that they are actually only temporarily given this role, but soon they will be removed from this place and then they will return to the life of mere mortals.

Then they will be dealt with as mere mortals and will face Gods judgement as to whether they dealt with others in the justice that God has called them to rule.

The last phrase calls them to remember that they belong to God, and that they will be dealt with on the scale of unjust dealings that thay dealt with their subjects.

SO GO WITH GOD my dear saint for those who deal unfairly with you will face the consequence of their dealings with all of those they have been placed over. Don't yearn for earthly justice being brought to them for our God will punish them much more effectively than any human court is capable of carrying out. Rest on His ability to make wrongs right for He will bring to light the consequences of their injustices.
