Why Should We Sing Praises To God?

Trivia: You all got it right, Santa Monica is the city that is not in New YHork City.

Do you know which term is used when objects are traveling at Mach 5 or faster? Is it Turbosonic; Supersonic; Hypersonic; Or Ultrasonic? Make your guess, I got this one wrong myself.

Challenge:

Psalm 108:1-5 “My heart is confident in you, O God; no wonder I can sing your praises with all my heart! 2 Wake up, lyre and harp! I will wake the dawn with my song. 3 I will thank you, Lord, among all the people. I will sing your praises among the nations. For your unfailing love is higher than the heavens. Your faithfulness reaches to the clouds. 5 Be exalted, O God, above the highest heavens. May your glory shine over all the earth.”

The writer starts off with the reason that he wants to sing to the Lord in the morning. His daily faithfulness gives him the confidence that he needs in order to step into this new day. As the dawn arises he is reminded of the greatness of God. Then he reminds us of the earths reminder to us, The warmth of the sun reaches from each of us here on the earth all the way up to the highest clouds.

Yesterday as we admired the greatness of our God, while setting on the beach at Balboa we were amazed at the great power of God, as the tide arose, the sun set, and the many birds over the ocean flew we were reminded of just how great is our God. We walked along the side walks of the island and gazed at the beauty of. the many homes built there, we were reminded of the immensity of God’s many creations. The oceans, the beautiful blue sky, the warmth of the sun, and the blessing of the the mild spring breezes that we enjoy this time of year.

Especially after reading my text from my brother and his family, where the weather in Joplin is minus 3 degrees and my sister’s temp in Lincoln, Nebraska and Kansas City, Mo. is -15 degrees. After reading his text I was reminded of what seemed chilly to us this evening, but at the coldest point was a mere 44 degrees, I couldn’t help but be reminded of the warmth of the sun especially in that climate.

When we say “Be exalted, O God, above the highest heavens. May your glory shine over all the earth.”

Truly all of the earth reflects the great glory of our God, even in the coldest of times, He is still proven to be worthy of being exalted.

Tomorrow we will delve deeper into just why we should sing praises to our God, for His mercies endures forever.

SO GO WITH GOD my dear one, for we don’t deserve the salvation of our Lord, His promise of comfort, warmth, and many blessings are beyond our right to deserve His care for us. But He none the less, promises to wrap us up in His blanket of comfort, peace, and rest. And as we awake this morning we awake with His many promises covering our every need. The mercies of our Father are brand new each and everyday. “Praise the name of Jesus.”
