Trivia:
Do you know what "flibbertigibbet" means? A study of insects, a talkative person, a fear of snakes, or a large cooking pot? What do you think?
Challenge:
Ecclesiastes 11:10b "And put away evil from you flesh, For childhood and youth are vanity."
So we may be thinking just how do we "put evil away"? Well Paul spoke of this to Timothy as he began his ministry as a young man in 2 Timothy 2:22 he addressed it this way. "Run from anything that stimulates youthful lusts. Instead, pursue righteous living, faithfulness, love, and peace. Enjoy the companionship of those who call on the Lord with pure hearts."
In other words run away from fleshly desires and instead run too those who live with righteous intentions. Many times we see young children choosing to eat ice cream rather than food which will strength and health. In this same way we need to discipline ourselves to steere away from those things which are enjoyable for the moment, but fail to bring any rich fulfillment.
In the same way we must give that kind of beneficial direction to our lives. To refuse being directed to things which only satisfy for the moment, but fail to strengthen our minds and lives.
