Welcome to Tuesday; Can you guess what the first DVD ever rented on Netflix was? You'll never guess this one because it was too long ago. Guess before you read on! So here goes "Beetlejuice" in 1998. Did you get it right? I didn't,
Todays meditation verse comes from Prov. 22:4 "True humility and fear of the Lord leads to riches, honor, and long life.
Throughout the Bible the fear of the Lord indicates an awe or reverence. To expresses a high loyalty & faithfulness to His covenant as well.
To exhibit trust in Him, as well as, obedience to His commands.
Those who we recognize as unbelievers today, may make statements about life, and truth, however, we cannot have true ultimate understanding of God until we enter into a redemptive relationship of Reverential awe with Him.
Notice the route to a truely enriching life is humility & reverence of God then this results in the triad.
Riches- not necessarily financial
riches, but always lasting
riches
Honor - respect among men but
more importantly honor
from God & our heavenly
family
Long life - nothing is longer than
eternal life
Look what Micah 6:8 lays out "O people, (not just Israel) the Lord has told us what is good, (what he considers is good for us) and this is what He requires of you: to do what is right, to love mercy, and to walk humbly with your God."
So Go With God my dear one, and He will pour out from heaven these eternal gifts on you. Some now and some later, but all in eternity. The fanfare we are witnessing on Queen Elizabeth is dim in relationship to the joys of heaven for you & I his children. Just imagine the sounds of heaven that will be unleashed on you as you enter the Joys of your Lord. The voices of billions of saints who have gone there before you. Who are rejoicing in your arrival to His glorious home made just for you.
It reminds me of going home with my family to Joplin. My parents had moved and so it was midnight & my dad said he would meet us out on the right corner. As we drove slowly looking down the street, everyone in the car was alert to see Dad & sure enough there he was standing expectantly for our return, with a smile & joyous appearance. Just as our Father is waiting expectantly for you & I as we make our way with Christ into that joyous place called heaven. Like the kids sing "I'm going to heaven can't wait, Goin to see Jesus"
What a beautiful comparison, your dad watching snd waiting for your glorious return. Our parents, who are in Heaven, will be waiting with the Trinity expectantly for our end on this earth snd transport to be forever united again.
