Challenge:

Psalm 2:1 "Why are the nations so angry? Why do they waste their time with futile plans? The kings of the earth prepare for battle; the rulers plot together against the Lord.and against His anointed one. Let us break their chains, they cry, and free ourselves from slavery to God. But the one who ruled in heaven laughs. The Lord scoffs at them. "

This Psalm is recognized

As a Royal Psalm and was

Many times quoted during the coronation celebration of a new king.

These first verses speak of the plans that Gentile nations make against a new Jewish king. They gathered together in an attempt to defeat the new king, as he set forth his plans to defend his people from their adversary.

These surrounding nations would attempt to bring harm to this newly formed nation, which recognized God and His words. They saw their allegiance to god outside of this earthly force as an enemy to the earthly masters of their reigns.

You see these ungodly rulers would gather in federations against God even though they were commonly in conflict with each other due to their hatred of God. For they naturally

fear any kingdom that is foreign to this other worldly thinking.

Their thinking was that "Might makes right" in other words if they were more powerful than others they were to be feared and followed.

As children of the Highest King of our world we

find it natural to follow Him (God) rather than any human order. To them this is foreign.

You see to our worldly forces eyes this obligation to obey God seems like slavery. They saw this as a restrictive control. When as His children we recognize obedience to His eternal order as reasonable, and even productive in the long view way of living.

While They see this obedience to Gods order as Living in slavery. For us it makes about as much sense as cutting the brake lines on a car in order to be free, only to result in an catastrophic outcome.

To us it constitutes living in harmony with an orderly plan rather than in conflict. This orderly existence which brings a peaceful coexistence with all others appears to have an ultimate peace rather than a life of warfare and constant conflict. Much like the rulers of Hamas opposing the reasonable orderly existence of an orderly existence.

SO GO WITH GOD for

Though it appears to be foreign to the other worldly outlook it ultimately brings peace, and harmony to all of life. So my dear one rest in His ways for this brings order and completeness to our lives as no other existence can bring.
