Psalm 104:16-24 “The trees of the Lord are well cared for—the cedars of Lebanon that He planted. 17 There the birds make their nests, and the storks make their home in the cypresses. 18 High in the mountains live the wild goats, and the rocks form a refuge for the hydraxes.(rock badger) 19 You made the moon to mark the seasons, and the sun know when to set. 20 You send the darkness, and it becomes night, when all the forest animals prowl about. 21 Then the young lions roar for their prey, stalking rage food provided by God. 22 At dawn the slink back in their dens to rest. 23 Then people go off to their work, where they labor until evening. 24 O Lord, what a variety of things you have made! In wisdom you have made them all. The earth is full of your creatures.”

As we read these verses, I was amazed with several things, that I had never been aware of before. This creation that we daily live in its surroundings each day are truly amazing, beautiful, and wonderful, aren’t they?

I don’t know if you noticed a couple of the things that I was drawn too? The first thing that I am amazed by, is the fact that the cedars of Lebanon, these massive trees were planted by God.

Just think for a minute of the tons of water that this forest of trees draws out of the ground. Also I was reminded of the fact that these trees that God planted had several purposes. One, was that they became the homes of a vast number, and varieties of birds. Secondly, due to the fact that these trees reach into the sky with such immensity, they slow down the clouds and therefore cause the condensation that are present in the clouds to fall as rain on the valley below them, resulting in amazingly fertile land below. Thirdly, these fertile gardens bring about luscious gardens below for the people to enjoy a broad selection of fruit, crops, etc.

The next thing that I noticed that is nestled in these verses was found in verses 19, 20 was that God formed the moon and the sun to assist us in two ways. First, he strives to guide us in the best times to work and to rest, as well as, guidance for the most productive time to plant and harvest crops.

Finally, the writer is drawn to the realization of God’s amazingly creative hand, and the variety of ways that He demonstrates the level of wisdom that He passes onto us, His children. Just pause to think for a minute, just how we are placed on a land that inhabits the unfathomable variety of animals.

Our home is built just a few blocks away from a bird sanctuary, where animals of every kind live and create life. Then in the nearby neighboring community is a lake which is home to ducks and geese who each morning fly into the field next to our housing development to feed on the various seeds and grains that are found there.

When we stop to think about all of these wonders, we can’t help but to be drawn to admire the fabulous creative hand of our God. Then we are amazed by the many people who though surrounded by this great demonstration of wonder, could possibly ask the foolish question. “How can we know that there is a God.”

SO GO WITH GOD my precious child of the King of Kings, and rest in His care, for He truly is beyond amazing in His wisdom, creative skills, and most of all, His unwavering love for us. “Oh, How great is our God!!!”
