trivia:
The one song that wasn’t a Dean Martin hit was “Beyond the Sea.”
Here’s a trivia quandary of the past. Can you guess the national average of the price of gas here in the USA in 1950’s? $1.25; $1.00; $0.75; $0.25.
Challenge:
Psalm 77:16-20 “When the Red Sea saw you, O God, it’s waters looked and trembled! The sea quaked to its very depths. 17 The clouds poured down rain, the thunder rumbled in the sky. Your arrows of Lightning flashed. 18 Your thunder roared from the whirlwind; the lightning lit up the world! The earth trembled and shook. 19 Your road led through the sea, your pathway through the mighty waters—a pathway on one knew was there! 20 You led your people along that road like a flock of sheep, with Moses and Aaron as their shepherds.”
In This last section of Psalm 77 we learn the final step in walking through times of struggle and challenge was to look to the workings of God in our past experiences.
Through this chapter we learn the Psalmists conclusion was to recognize God’s care for His children. He had learned so far in verse 13 that God’s way was in the sanctuary and yes, in verse 16 even in the sea and then He lead his people through it on dry ground.
When they had passed Through the sea He closed the water both on the Egyptian army and on His footsteps. (His protection was seen but also He guided them to the future; not going back)
We learn the perfect example from the sailor. He can’t folllow the path of a ship that successfully crossed the ocean for their path is washed away by the wake of the sea.
He only can navigate his way by looking to the stars and move forward by God’s creation and pathway. In the same way we must be guided by His guidance, His created instruction Manuel, by reading the Bible and calling on Him to lead our way in the middle of the storm. Look up and see where the Lord wants to guide you.
Don’t look down, or look around, but rather look up to Him for His guiding stars in His words and the Spirit’s leadings.
God writes His will for you and me on the table of our hearts. 2 Corinthians 3:3 says this; Clearly, you are a Letter from Christ… This “letter” is written not with pen and ink, but with the Spirit of the living God, it is carved not on tablets of stone, but on human hearts.”
SO GO WITH GOD my dear one through the uncharted waters of life, through the harsh desert terrain, in the middle of troubles He will guide you. Call upon Him for directions and then listen to His voice in His WORD.
As sure as He guides the sailor by His creative force (the stars) He will guide you forward through the powerful waves of life, He will make a way a sure path for you to go, so get out you compass (the Bible) and then steadily follow His guiding words through the storm, remove those unneeded things from your life than can weigh you down. Daily set and reset your course by His Word your instruction book.
Listen for His kind, calming, reassuring words for this days course in life, He will see you through my brother, and sister.
