Trivia:

Well I guess the song "Splish Splash" was before most of you but the singer who made that song popular was Bobby Darin. however, I think that Fats Domino was one of the most famous musicians of that time period. Good guess everyone.

Here was a surprise to me; What was the first product that the Heinz company produced? Was it Mustard; Ketchup; Relish; or Horseradish?

Challenge:

Psalm 61:1-8 "O God, listen to my cry! Hear my prayer! 2 From the ends of the earth, I cry to you for help when my heart is overwhelmed. Lead me to the towering rock of safety, 3 For you are my safe refuge, a fortress where my enemies cannot reach me. 4 Let me live forever in you sanctuary, safe beneath the shelter of your wings! 5 For you have heard my vows, O God. You have given me an inheritance reserved for those who fear your name. 6 Add many years to the life of the king! May his years span the generations! 7 May he reign under God's protection forever. May your unfailing love and faithfulness watch over him. 8 Then I will sing praises to your name forever as I fulfill my vows each day."

This Psalm is consiudered to be one of the Psalms written during Absolam's attempt to take over his fathers reign recorded in 2 Samuel 15-18. This Psalm lays out a pattern that we should carry out when we face conflict in our lives.

1 Cry out to God for Help. Ps. 61:1,2

2 Remind ourselves and others of the source of our confidence Ps. 61:3-7

3 Speak boldly of our commitment to follow faithfully after God Ps. 61:8

Verse 2 lays out the pattern that we should take when we are faced with overwhelming adversity. We should take heart in knowing that regardless of our location, or our uncertainty, God is our "towering rock of safety"

When I think about a place that we have visited that reminds me of this tower, I can't help but remember St Augustine's Fort The Castillo de San Marcos. It is protected from any outside forces, by a mote, cannons surrounding its entire upper surface, 8 fresh water wells inside it, massive places of storage of needed supplies to survive for months when under siege, along with an entire fenced area for live storage of animals and gardens.

Verse 7 speaks of the mind set that we should take when facing hardship. "May your unfailing love and faithfulness watch over me". Then at last the promise that should be emblazoned in our prayers and our daily walk before God. "Then I will sing praises to your name forever, as I fulfill my vows each day."

Our most important vows that we should daily carry out without fail. Our conversations with our Heavenly Father in prayer, and His words of encouragement, instruction, and inspiration recorded in the Bible in order that may never forget His faithful care for all of our needs.

SO GO WITH GOD my dear one for He will never fail us throughout our lives, He will be that place of care and comfort each and everyday. Though the forces of our world may appear to be winning He will uphold us through those difficult days. David stands as a testament to our God's promises being constantly fulfilled in our lives.
