Do you know which planet is called earth’s twin? Is it Venus, Mars, Jupiter, or Mercury. Yes, you guessed it right, It is Venus, but for the life of me I have no idea why?
Well I guess they are similar in size, gravity, & it’s trace amounts of water, but after that the similarities come to a screeching halt. Such as, Venus normal temp is 870degrees. See what I mean?
Prov. 24:7-8 “Wisdom is too lofty for fools. Among leaders at the city gate, they have nothing to say. A person who plans evil will get a reputation as a troublemaker. The schemes of a fool are sinful; Everyone detests a mocker.”
This warning lays out the wise person’s demeanor from both the positive & negative perspective.
Wise person:
Refuses to set himself up as a know-it-all vs 7
In civil & matters of commerce he gives ear to others input before responding
Refuses to enter into plans to do harm or evil to others
Detests those individuals who mock others (whether they are right or not)
Foolish person:
Does the exact opposite in all of these matters
Isn’t able to speak with the voice of authority
Gains the reputation of being a “master schemer”
Achieves the contempt of others who seek success
When Hezekiah became king of Judah he tore down idols, and restored the temple to its proper standing (2 Chron. 29-31) . During this time he also directed the scribes to copy all of these proverbs of Solomon : Prov. 25-30.
As the saying goes “Don’t pray for an easier life. Pray that you’ll be a stronger person. Trials don’t make or break a person. They’re simply a gauge to show you where you’re at in your walk with the Lord.”
So Go With God He will cause you to be strong in an otherwise weak day.
As we look about us we can choose to be like King Ahaz, who just want along with
his days evil or like King Hezekiah who determined to strike down evil and set a new
course for himself & others. God honored his decision by granting him success in his
life & in the nation as a whole.
