Don't worry about evil people who prosper or fret about their wicked schemes. 10 Soon the wicked will disappear. Though you look for them, they will be gone. 13 But the Lord just laughs, for He sees their day of judgement coming. 16 It is better to be godly and have little than be evil and rich. 17 For the strength of the wicked will be shattered, but the Lord takes care of the godly. 35 I have see the wicked and ruthless people flourishing like a tree time soil. 37 But when I looked again, they were gone! Though I searched for them, I could not find them."
These collective of verses point out for us just what is the outcome for those who live their lives in a wicked, godless way.
Vs. 1 Don't be jealous of those who live with the wrong motives
Vs. 2 Because the will soon fade and wither away
Vs. 7 Don't worry when evil people seem to prosper even though they devise hurtful schemes
Vs. 10 Because they soon will disappear and be forgotten
Vs. 13 Even the Lord will laugh at their success because soon they will face the ultimate consequences
Vs. 16 Evil and rich people will ultimately recognize their limited usefulness
Vs. 17 For their lives will result in their own personal destruction and sadness
Vs. 20 And worst of all they will vanish into a puff of smoke
Vs. 35 Don't search around for wicked, ruthless people, or try to find meaning in their lives
Vs. 36 For in time they will vanish, no more to be seen
Have you noticed the importance that is heaped onto those who achieve seeming great success? For if these gains are the result of evil efforts, by the test of time then what truly matters is born out.
Tomorrow we will look at this chapter from the perspective of those things which God instructs us in, and just what He places value on, and the proof of that reality by just how He protects the righteous.
