Oh! My special one please continue to pray for Chris as he goes to the doctor and begins Kemotherapy, and Tommy for doctor to be able to determine his ailment, and for my nephew Bryan as he is experiencing intestinal blockage and will be hospitalized unless his blockage is broken up.
Our meditation today is found in Prov. 13:22-24 “Good people leave an inheritance to their grandchildren, but the sinners wealth passes to the godly. ... Those who spare the rod of discipline hate their children. Those who love their children care enough to discipline them.“
A wise philosopher said “Life can only be understood backward, but unfortunately we must live it forward.“ So in order to fulfill the proper conclusion to our life we must learn the invaluable lesson to follow after our Heavenly Fathers ways. David learned that lesson and said in Psa. 23:6 “Surely goodness and mercy have followed me all the days of my life”
Since we know that Christ’s desires are to lovingly guide our ways, as we follow His directions we will be blessed to fulfill our intended end and leave that benefit of following God to our children & grandchildren and the eternal benefit of following Him in our libed.
The greatest inheritance we can
leave for our families is our eternal heritage of walking with God in our life. We begin that vital lesson by properly guiding our children to honor our discipline and then they will learn proper discipline from God, if we fail in this simple but tedious task the rest will result in failure. Recognizing God’s gracious hand in His discipline in our lives will result in us passing that eternal inheritance on to our families.
So Go With God in our walk of recognizing His loving hand of discipline in our life and then honoring and obeying it will result in goodness & mercy in our lives.
Sometimes it seems we are not getting through to our family members who have drifted away from God, but God Himself knows their need and can reach them even if we can't. Our daily prayers still continue for their hearts to be open to Him.
