Trivia:

Thank you everyone for your prayers for The Good News Club, we had 14 children join us yesterday and the spirit was high. Thanks again, our primary message was "You are valuable to God" and He loves you so much that He sent His only son to die for your sin. Please continue to pray for our GN team.

Well you all got the correct name for the hippie movement participants, the flower children.

Albert Einstein left us a wise nugget of truth. "Life is like riding a bicycle. To keep your balance, you must keep moving."

Challenge:

Psalm 59:1-10 "Rescue me from my enemies, O God. Protect me from those who have come to destroy me. 2 Rescue me from these criminals; save me from these murders. 3 They have set an ambush for me. Fierce enemies are out there waiting, Lord, though I have sinned or offended them. 4 I have done nothing wrong, yet thet prepare to attack me. Wake up! See what is happening and help me! 5 O Lord God of Heaven's Armies, the God of Israel, wake up and punish those hostile nations. Show no mercy to wicked traitors. 6 They come out at night, snarling like vicious dogs as they prowl the streets. 7 Listen to the filth that comes from their mouths; their words cut like swarms. "After all, who can hear us?" they sneer. 8 But Lord, you laugh at them. You scoff at all the hostile nations. 9 You are my strength; I wait for you to rescue me, for you, O God, are my fortress. 10 In His unfailing love, my God will stand with me. He will let me look down in triumph on all my enemies."

In this first section we see the writers request for --Rescue the Hebrew word sagav "to make high";

Protection the Hebrew verb natal meaning "to deliver";

Salvation the Hebrew promise for "removing them from danger"

Next David defends him and his army by declaring his innocence,

Finally in verse 6-7 David lays out to God just why He should deliver his army from their enemy.

They attack while it is night time, with the same approach as vicious wild dogs

They go on the prowl to everyone, without the intention to stop their enemy, but instead to bring

hurt and harm to whoever they find

They speak with filthy, destructive words on everyone that they meet

Now we see David recounting the reason that he and his army can stand in confidence:

The Lord is not in any way fearful towards these evil ones

He is strong and He will give strength and protection to His children, even as a powerful fortress

Yes, He will demonstrate His unfailing love, and stand strong against any enemy regardless of how

powerful or how many enemies come after His children

SO GO WITH GOD for just like the unforgettable paraphrase of verse 10a says “My God, with His loving kindness, shall come to meet me at every corner.”

Remember, our Heavenly Father will preserve us regardless of the force of our enemy.

Tomorrow we will stand in witness of

these powerful deliverances that He has in mind for us throughout our lives. As verse 11 ends by saying “O Lord our shield” we must stand in expectation for His mighty protection in these coming days for us His chosen children.

We stand in faith before Satan’s battlegrounds in our life, whether it be the ground of loss, or of uncertainty He is there at the ready to move into our Iives with His lovingkindness, protection, or rescue. Regardless of the events before us, Stand strong my children of the KING.
