Psalm 41:10-13 "Lord, have mercy on me. Make me well again, so I can pay them back! 11. I know you are pleased with me, for you have not let my enemies triumph over me. 12 You have preserved my life because I am innocent; you have brought me into your presence forever. 13 Praise the Lord, the God of Israel, who lives from everlasting to everlasting. Amen and amen!"
This chapter concludes Psalms Book One which is also called the Doxology. This Psalm began with speaking of a blessing of God on those who are righteous, and then ends here with those who are righteous bestowing blessings on the Lord. "Praise the Lord, the God of Israel."
Notice David guides his thoughts from one of struggles, loss, and sorrow, and then almost as an act of his will, he turns his focus of the Lord's working in his life, rather than those who are seeking to bring harm to him. Listen to this formula of blessing!
I have been reminded.
You preserved my life
You brought me into your very presence
So, I will Praise you Lord,
You have chosen to be the God of Israel (my people)
You have made Israel to have an eternal existence
This is the best formula for properly dealing with loss. TURN YOUR EYES UPON JESUS
SO GO WITH GOD my child of God, for He will lift that cloud of sorrow, that hurt of disappointment, you are not alone in this struggle. He will carry you through this day of hurt and pain, and He will ultimately carry you to your heavenly home.
