So, What do you call an amazing day in the mountains? Yeah that’s right, A peak experience. Ho ho just don’t get down in the dumps, now.

Prov. 25:15 “Patience can persuade a prince, and soft speech can break bones.”

Many times in our desire for immediate results we fail to remember that slow, patient, faithful guidance has the ability to direct effective change. We tend to think that if we apply intense pressure we will prevail, however, many times that pressure results in harm & damage.

Just as fashioning wood to a oval, or rounded shape requires steam and gentle pressure, so also, gentle caring words are able to bring reason to a hardened person. If you have watched the movie Beauty & The Beast, that movie though imaginary lays out this same truth.

At my grandfathers farm there was a huge tree at least 100 years old which grew around a very small fence post. Though that post was very small in comparison to the massive tree, the wind & rain fashioned that tree around the post till they were inseparable. The gentle pressure of that weak post formed that massive tree around it, a testimony to the power of gentle firm pressure.

We see that same lesson in Israel a slave nation, to a powerful militant nation Egypt. That weak servant nation has become an influential nation even today. We may look on today & wonder just how that could be? Well that is true for two reasons, 1) God in His patience has honored Israel in fulfillment to His promises to their past leaders who obeyed & followed Him unwaveringly. 2) They though failing many times have upheld their role of being His ambassador in this world. (A peculiar people)

This proverb lays out for us the value of remaining patient, and gently carrying out our obedience & loving compassion for God & His people. As we follow in this way we will prevail in His will.

The world about us is attempting to pressure & even if necessary break the will of those they are focused on, however, the patient, gracious life of those they seek to dominate, will with Our Fathers strength prevail, maybe, if not in this life but will certainly in the next.

So Go With God for He has proven for thousands of years, His faithfulness to honor those who patiently, gently walk in His ways. He will never fail.

1 Peter 4:19 “So if you are suffering in a manner that pleases God, keep on doing what is right, and trust your lives to the God who created you, for He will never fail you.”

Wonderful devotion. It takes patience to wait for results, we tend to live in the immediate and then get ahead of God.
