For all of you puppy lovers out there here is a challenge. How many teeth are puppies born with? 18; 46; 32; or 28. Make your guess.

Challenge:

Psalm 41:1-4 "Oh. the joys of those who are kind to the poor! The Lord rescues them when they are in trouble. 2 The Lord protects them and keeps them alive. He gives them prosperity in the land and rescues them from their enemies. 3 The Lord nurses them when they are sick and restores them to health. 4 Oh Lord, "I prayed, have mercy on me. Heal me, for I have sinned against you."

When those around us question the existence of God, we should remind them of these proofs for His existence. When we are caring and helpful to the poor He promises to meet our needs in these ways:

Rescue from trouble

Protection from enemies trying to harm us

Purposing to keep us alive when enemies try to destroy us

Prosperity in our efforts to provide sustenance from the land

Rescue from those who try to harm us

He even nurses us back to health when we fall ill

He helps us regain our health all the way to recovery

Has mercy and forgives us when we sin against Him (this sin is not against others, but against Him)

Wow, is that amazing or not, just think about that last offense in verse 4. Just think. When we ask forgiveness for our sins against Him, not only does He forgive us, but more importantly He is merciful and brings healing to us.

Now lets think for a minute about what kind of sins might we commit against God?

How about just not trusting Him to guide us in our daily plans? Becoming caught up in fear.

Or maybe, not giving praise to Him that is worthy of His many blessings that He constantly showers on us.

Becky is watching the Olympics this week and several things came across my mind during these competitions. The extreme effort that each contestant has committed to their sport for most of them their entire life. The great cost that goes into this one competition, the buildings, facilities, computer technology for calculating and reporting the results, the coaching staff's commitment to each athlete, the cost of attending this event, I could go on and on and on, but I won't bore you with these things.

Then I began to consider the extent that our Heavenly Father invests in our lives, and what about the investment that I am offering to my own spiritual growth. Am I disciplining my mind and body to the daily growth of my spiritual life?

Next, I was reminded of the crowds adulation for each contestant, and number of people attending each of these events, the hours surrendered to their attendance.

These were some of the thoughts that ran across my mind, then I had to ask myself, Was I giving my best in disciplining my body and soul for Him? Was I attending each event that was dedicated to honoring and praising His name, for His work, and many fulfilled promises, etc?

Were my offerings of praise worthy in comparison to His sacrifice for me? When we gather to make a joyful noise for Him, is my offering worthy in comparison to His many sacrifices for me? No wonder, David ends his thought to God in verse 4 "Heal me, for I have sinned against you."

SO GO WITH GOD for He faithfully keeps His promises to us whether we faithfully offer to Him our allegiance or not. Together let us sing out loud the praises worthy of His daily gifts to us. Praise Him! Praise Him! Jesus our blessed redeemer.
