Good Monday morning can you believe it’s 75 already?

Did you know that Queen Elizabeth has someone who breaks in any new pair of shoes she wears. By the way, speaking of walking; Do you think that the average British adult takes enough steps each day that they could walk around the world 3 times in their life. True or False? Respond with your guess.

Our meditation begins in a brand new chapter Prov. 21:1 “The king’s heart is like a stream of water directed by the Lord; He guides it wherever He pleases.”

This reminds us that even though kings, presidents, or even leaders hold power; they none the less are under God’s authority.

They are actually puppets carrying out God’s purposes.

Think for a minute about one example of this. Caesar declared a new tax requiring inhabitants to register in their home country. This decision required Mary who lived in Nazareth to travel to Bethlehem which resulted in Jesus being born in Bethlehem. Which fulfilled Micah’s prophecy (Micah 5:2) of the place of Jesus’ birth to be Bethlehem, rather than Nazareth.

Even the chaos of our day is God’s work in motion. That doesn’t mean we are to just stand by and allow harmful activity to go unchecked.

No; on the other hand we are called to lift up Godly leaders (Ex. 18:21). To give honor to those leaders who honor God to remove those who speak against Godly laws.

Many times we look at streams, lakes, rivers, and yes, even oceans control themselves, but we fail to realize that even they are ordered by the Lord.

This passage reminds us to call on Him, give direction as we are lawfully allowed and then to rest in His leadership in our life.

Nothing is beyond His control, even as small as a creek.

As a boy we would go down to the creek and spend hours in diverting water in a new direction. Of course mainly it was a way to get cooled down, but when returning the following days we would notice that no matter intense our work had been. Moving rocks, building damns, placing fallen trees, soil, gravel, etc. upon our return we would notice the stream was back in its previous course.

On my grandfathers farm there was an island where cowing mothers would get stranded and have babies there where there was not much grass for her to gain nourishment and so we attempted to put in place a shallow causeway for these cows to return to the mainland, but in time the water would wash away this effort.

So we had to resort to checking each day for stranded pregnant mothers & when necessary assist them in crossing the water flow, back to the mainland.

That challenge reminds me of just how our Heavenly looks out for us in our daily concerns.

So Go With God no small concern is too small or even too large for Him. Rest in His ways, follow in His paths and He will lovingly nurture us in our lives.
