Food morning, Do you know which pasta sauce is made of tomato, Guancial, and cheese? Is it Cacio E Pepe; Amatriciana; Aglio E Olio; Or Carbonara ? Make your guess. More next week. Hint: It blends smoky flavor with tangy tomatoes, and creamy cheese.

Saturday 4/1. Aprils Fools Day

Prov. 29:17 "Discipline your children, and they will give you peace of mind and will make your heart glad."

So this verse talks about the two benefits we gain by disciplining our children.

  1. Will leave a peace of mind (rest & assurance) for the parents

  2. Will also result in a delightful joy in their souls(rather than anxiety & heartache)

In other words to the extent that we guide our children in the ways of God, it will be to that end that they will experience, or be prone to personal growth & prosperity.

Many times we may become easily focused on what is easiest, or best for ourselves in the present. However, this context is bringing our attention to the future, beyond our own existence.

Since my parents, grandparents, uncles & aunts have all passed on into eternity, I see more clearly the importance for me to emphasize to my children & grandchildren their walk with our Father. I see clearly why Solomon left us the Book of Ecclesiastes. In it he reminded us of the meaninglessness of all of life, from your works, your influence, your possessions, and even your power, without a proper relationship with God your life is very empty, and will leave you with sadness & disappointment.

I will never forget the many deep conversations that I had with my grandfather during the closing chapters of his life. Most of his life had been taken up with all of the efforts of maintaining a healthy business and providing for his family, and leaving some inheritance behind. My grandmother, uncles, and most of his friends were gone, and due to his physical fraility he moved into our home. He & I had quite a few deep conversations, where he looked back on his life & evaluated what really matters.

He told me of the many adventures, acheivements, dreams, that had made up his life. When past friends would come to visit him, they would joy in past efforts, past victories, etc. I noticed that once they had left, and he was now reflecting on their visit. He would always tell me just how important that his relationship with the Lord Almighty was to him now in this very day.

I remember on Sunday, getting ready to go to church to be with our Fathers family, all those saints presence took on an aire of excitement. I will never forget him, putting on his stripped starched bib overhauls, starched blue shirt, and crisp stripped hat, and I would help him put on his socks, and after polishing his boots, help him put them on & lace them up. He would tell me of what his life had been like when he was my age. Those times are indelibly impressed on my mind. I will forever, remember how he recounted the many times he had been impressed with God's loving care for him.

These are the things that our study is talking about, the tremendous value of guiding others in our life towards our Heavenly Father, particularly our children & grand children. These times of instruction bring peace of mind, and experiences of joy.

So Go With God for His ways are ways of joy & fulfillment.
