It’s the beginning of a brand new week, fresh for our enjoyment. By the way, Do you know what musical instrument is found in the bathroom? Well of course it‘s a tuba toothpaste. I share this for your brushing enjoyment. Ha ah!
Our meditation today is found in Prov. 19:24 “A lazy man buries his hand in the bowl, And will not so much as bring it to his mouth again.“
The Hebrew word for lazy is only used in Proverbs.
Prov. 26:13,14 finds any excuse
to stay in bed
Prov. 24:30 his land becomes
overgrown with
useless, destructive weeds
Prov. 10:4; 13:4; 20:4 is forced
to poverty & uselessness
Prov. 26:16 believes himself to
be wise
This is supposed to be a humorous portrayal of the person who is to lazy to even raise his hand to feed himself, not alone to care for anyone else.
The thought here portrayed is that the lazier a person is the more he intends to do tomorrow, the more self- important he sees himself to be. The natural outlook becomes one of distraction from the issues of life that are truly vital to his world, even to the extreme point of not eating.
So Go With God and purpose to improve your knowledge in things that better yourself & others. Seek to go outside of yourself to the others who God chooses to bring into your life. Then do your best to bring joy & fulfillment to others through your care, compassion and hopefulness.
