Here’s a question I bet you never thought about. How did Moses make his coffee so great? Well of course, Hebrew it. Oh oh, They say it was good to the last drop.

Prov. 26:11 “As a dog returns to its vomit, so a fool repeats his foolishness.”
This warning is focused on the foolish persons tendency to fail to learn from his past failures. He just as a dog vomits and then licks it up, so also a fool even after experiencing failure, returns back to his foolish ways.
Peter quoted this very passage in 2 Peter 2:22 in regards to false teachers and their failure to learn. Then he quotes this proverb, and afterwards adds the illustration of the pig returning from a bath back into the mud pit that he had been rescued from earlier.
Just as all of the past 10 verses have laid out various warnings for us to be made aware of, this again is another evidence to be given in order to caution us from being swayed from others foolish ways. The evils of our day, the worldly system, the devil, and even our fleshly reasoning, many times seems so logical, but they are, none the less, ultimately foolish.
You see it is one thing for us to fall or fail, but, it is another thing for us to continually return to our folly over & over. You see a true believer may fall, but, he will get up and change direction; repent and turn from the sin that fooled him.
The story of the prodical son is a perfect reminder of this. He fell into sin & evil, but, then he woke up, he realized he was eating with the pigs, a son who had been redeemed. Then he came before his father humbly, and he repented of his foolish ways. The father forgave him, and returned him to his place as his son, with no shame, but rather renewed guidance.
So the test of our wisdom isn’t never making a mistake, but rather, upon realizing our failure we then correct our course of action. On the other hand, once a fool is faced with his failure he determines to continue on, regardless of the mess he is in.
So Go With God for He will firgive, forget and lead you out of your failure, and set your feet on dry, firm ground. With new strength and new understanding you both will walk in power, and hope, and joy, you and your loving, forgiving, strengthening Father.
