Let's see just how much you know about past inventions. Here we go. What was absent from the first phone book? Phone numbers; Businesses; Addresses; Names ? Make a guess & we'll check in tomorrow.

Eccl. 3:6 "A time to search and a time to quit searching."

Have you ever lost something that wasn't the end of the world if you didn't find it, but just was bothering you that you just couldn't find it?

What do you do in that case, dig deeper or stop and think about the last time you saw it & look there? Did you finally decide to quit and just see if it showed up?

Imagine if you were Solomon. Just imagine being a man who was king of the most influential nation in his world. He had over 1,000 personal horses & chariots, drank only out of golden goblets, etc. etc. etc. Just imagine all of the things in his kingdom. Even he learned this important lesson. Don't allow your inability to find something to haunt you, or as the saying goes, "Don't let it upset the apple cart."

Have you ever lost something that you felt was so important, or necessary & you for the life of you can't find it? If you are like me, if I can't find something; I've found that if I stop my all out search, in time it will show up. Usually in the most unusual place. You know in that; special, safe place, where you weren't for the life of you able to recall.

Well evidently Solomon in all of his wisdom had experienced this dilemma as well. For just like you & me he came to that place where he learned that same lesson we have learned, "Stop turning your world upside down for a while" & it will, just when least expected, it will just show up. Now lets don't pretend; That this has never happened to you, OK? Cause I do know that no matter how organized you may be even then it has happened to you.

Now for a minute let me remind you just who your talking to, my grandfather had odds & ends spread across 4 square blocks of land & 20 some buildings, shanty, barrels, buckets, etc. When we grandkids would come to visit him & grandma , he had a list of items he had written on a clipboard by the front door on a sheet of paper entitled "Things I can't find & you grandkids have seen."

No kidding, this happened many times in our playing throughout the yard, or inside a building, barrel or bucket; we had come across that very thing. When we would discover this wonder, he would laugh, dance, and we would celebrate finding it with sitting down and devouring a candy bar, or some other delight.

I will never forget the many times this happened, then after the candy bar we would head back to the house & across the street to call his customer. He'd laugh and they would compare notes on the item they were looking for.

Yes, your right; He refused to allow a phone in the house, so he paid his neighbor to use his phone, don't ask me the reason for that quirk. This use was so many times used that he paid the neighbors phone bill and a use fee for taking any messages he might have taken during the day. Many times he even had messages that our parents had left him earlier in the day.

So much for these mundane details, but I brought that up to go back to Solomons lesson. Don't let that dilemma of inability to find something to totally ruin your day, just set up a system that will enable you to find this at such a time that it is revealed.

Well, have you ever had this struggle irritate you?

So Go With God for He knows just where that thing is & He will reveal it at just the right time. Rest in His almighty hand, for He cares about that very thing; no matter how small it may be that you struggle with finding.
