Trivia:

I hope you had a good day of relaxation and enjoyment yesterday. By the way, Do you know what the walnut said to the pecan? We're friends, because were both just a little nuts! Ha! That one cracks me up. Oh!

Challenge:

Ecclesiastes 10:7 "I have even seen servants riding horseback like princes--and princes walking like servants."

Now I want to remind you that this section of the book is pointing out to various ironies which usually result in ultimate harm.

In order to understand the concept that Solomon is speaking about here, we must realize that in the Middle East, such a reversal of the normal roles of servant and master was felt to be an outrage against the society at large.

In order to come to a better understanding, lets go to some of the present similar abuses that are being provided for by the leaders of our nation. We are in the middle of a turmoil where people are being allowed to break the long term laws of our country. Then upon this action they are being given unlimited benefits, free transportation, clothing, food, housing, etc. Despite their committing of these sorts of unlawful acts, no consequence seems to expected or required.

As a result there is great contempt beginning to be arise towards these leaders. The norms of working hard, obeying the laws, living responsibly, respecting the rights of others, etc. etc. as these exceptions are being offered or at least being ignored, these result, in many extenuating circumstances. As a result of these long standing inborn principles being ignored, there is much upheaval in our culture.

Here are some of the natural consequences:

The law enforcers begin to be disrespected, and ignored, and sometimes the law breakers are even allowed to bring harm to these ones faithful to their sworn duty.

Those individuals who are providing services, food, and other provisions for others physical needs, at a a fair cost, are being harmed.

Those who have personal property are disrespected, harmed and stolen from.

Individuals who have served the culture through military endeavors, are left to fend for themselves.

The list could go on, and on, and on. We all have witnessed the consequences wheter dirtectly, or indirectly, for the allowance of others breaking the fair expectations of the cultural norms.

SO GO WITH GOD for He has promised that ultimately justice will be borne out. These irresponsible leaders will suffer some of the consequences due to their own actions. This may result in immediate consequence or for some at a time later, but they will be carried out.

It is important for us to be reminded, in Romans 12:9-21 Paul lays out the rules that we as believers are to live by, and he promises in the middle of these guidelines, verse 19. "Dear friends, never take revenge. Leave that to the righteous anger of God. ... I will take revenge; I will pay them back, says the Lord." then He warn us at the end of the chapter. Verse 21 "Don't let evil conquer you, but conquer evil by doing good."

My dear ones, be cautious for the powerful temptation of being harmed by others, is to then be conquered by that very evil. When the evil leader seemingly illudes any consequences, the temptation is for us to be conquered by that very evil. Rather, stand strong my dear saint, for God has promised to pay back the evil one's conduct.
