Trivia:

Do you know what the holes in Swiss Cheese are called? Are they called Punctures; Eyes; Craters; or Peepholes?

Challenge:

Psalm 70:1-5 "Please God, rescuer me! Come quickly, Lord help me. 2 May those who try to kill me be humiliated and put to shame. May those who take delight in my trouble be turned back in disgrace. 3 Let them be horified by their shame, for they said, "Aha! We've got him now!" 4 But may all who search for you be filled with joy and gladness in you. May those who love your salvation repeatedly shout, "God is great!" 5 But as for me, I am poor and needy; please hurry to my aid, O God. You are my helper and my savior; O Lord, do not delay."

Though this Psalm is very short it's message is very intense. The writer has four distinct requests:

Verse 1 holds the request HELP!!! QUICKLY! We can't help but see this request as a bullet prayer.

Verse 2,3 then leads with this request to PUNISH THOROUGHLY for they are attempting to kill him, they aren't just intens on just defeating him, and humiliating, or putting to shame, or disgracing him, but to end his life. That's why his request is so intense, for they are not just striving to bring disgrace to him but to totally end his life, and influence on his age.

Verse 4 now proclaims he desire that He WILL BE PRAISING CONTINUALLY leading all of those who look to Their Mighty God as their savior, in order to be repeatedly overcome with the thoughts and words of. "GOD IS GREAT."

Verse 5 concludes with the intense words of HELP QUICKLY, this speedy rescue is so necessary for they are utterly destitute. When we come before our God with this level and intensity of request, our faith will never go unrewarded.

David is here saying to His Lord, "Oh please hurry", but it is sometimes important for us to be aware that the Lord's clock runs differently than ours, you may be thinking "How is that?"

Well in Revelation 22:7 we are told. "Behold I come quickly," and this statement was 2,000 years ago.

While Peter reminds us in 2 Peter 3:8 "a thousand years with the Lord is as a day."

Now don't give up hope my dear one, with these thoughts, for our God is an "On Time God" and at the same time "He keeps perfect timing". It is just that He knows the need for us to learn the valuable lessons that only waiting, praying, crying and fasting, can bring to our lives.

Hardship and loss bring to our lives the needed character that only this hardship can bring. Oh, He yearns to rush in and bring immediate answers, but He knows how these challenging times, and yes seemingly impossible times will ultimately bring powerful strength, keeping faith, and great continual blessings to your life.

He knows what they will cause to be brought to us and more importantly to our legacy, through these difficult times. How they will deepen and strengthen our faith and our trust in Him. David learned these valuable lessons from this difficult time that he was facing here, and as a result the treasure that he found in the chapter.

SO GO WITH GOD for He will faithfully carry us through, what may seem impossible times right now. For as he says in verse 4 "May all who search for you be filled with joy and gladness in You." For Great is our God. As those people journeying to the promised land were bitten by deathly potent snakes, the way to life was to "Look and Live." They spoke to us this same message that we face today in the middle of what seems deathly destructive times, but He will carry you through this time, but we must "Look to Him and live."
