Pastor’s Corner

Public·39 members

Welcome my dear family I trust you enjoyed the believers gatherings yesterday. I was reading about a group of pastors in Ottawa, Canada who are holding outside services for the believers there around the capital grounds and the number of salvation decisions that have been made there. As these various pastors are faithfully broadcasting the Word.

Our study in Prov. 12:6 “The words of the wicked are like a murderous ambush, but the words of the godly save lives.” Reminds us of the importance of broadcasting the right words In our speech.

Do you know how many times words are spoken of in the Bible? Well it is talked about more than 500 times. Can you guess how many times it is used in Proverbs? is it 20; 80; 50; or 20 times I’ll tell you the correct number tomorrow, but by the number of times it is used tells us just how important they are. (Words)

Our verse today warns us of the potential impact of those words by those whose lives are continually directed toward evil. “Like a murderous ambush”. Hiding their motives of bringing harm to the innocent people they speak with, the inference is to seek to do harm to those that they give the appearance to be friends with. The Bible talks about these experiences with:

Joseph in Gen. 37:20

Jeremiah in Jer. 38:6-13

Daniel in Dan. 6:16

In other words he warned about the words of wicked people no matter how sweet the appearance may be; the intended outcome is harm, maybe causing feelings of inferiority, hurt, lies, etc.

While the words of godly people is healing, renewal, strengthening, etc.

So it is easy to determine the origen (sp) of the person -

harmful words ungodly

beneficial words godly

This is something for us to use to weigh out our words, for though our intention may not be to bring hurt we must sift out those words that do bring harm.

So Go with God and He will season your words to bring blessing to those you speak with.
