Trivia:

Davy Crockett was the folk hero who declared this motto throughout his life, "Be always sure you're right, then go ahead!" Mr. Crockett served in the U.S. Congress for Tennessee in the early 19th century, and later at the Battle of the Alamo.

Taco Bell started by serving which food item? Hot Dogs; Brownies; Calzones; Lobster rolls. Make your guess.

Challenge:

Psalm 103:9-18 "The Lord will not continually accuse us, nor remain angry forever. 10 He does not punish us for all our sins; He does not deal harshly with us, as we deserve. 11 For His unfailing love toward those who fear Him is as great as the height of the heavens above the earth. 12 He has removed our sins as far from us as the east is from the west. 13 The Lord is like a father to His children, tender and compassionate to those who fear Him. 14 For He knows how weak we are; He remembers we are only dust. 15 Our days on the earth are like grass; like wildflowers, we bloom and die. 16 The wind blows, and we are gone--as though we had never been here. 17 But the love of the Lord remains forever with those who fear Him. His salvation extends to the children's children 18 of those who are faithful to his covenant, of those who obey His commandments!"

In this section of scripture there are many reasons offered to us in order to be reminded of the importance that we have for expressing our thankfulness to God. As you read these verses can you pick out one reason that you have for giving thanks to God?

Out of the many reasons that I should be thankful for I picked out two that were especially dear to me. Verse 11 pointed out to me one reason for my constant rejoicing is "His unfailing love" and the extent that He administers His love for me, "as great as the height of the heavens above the earth."

Just think for a minute my saint, just how far do the heavens above us extend? Well it is so far that even though should we travel space for days, and months, we would not be able to come to its end.

Then as if that isn't enough for us, we read on in verse 17 "The love of the Lord remains forever." So the time and distant contenuim is beyond our ability to understand or have knowledge of. When it comes to our Father's love, forgiveness and even loving influence in our lives it is beyond our ability to comprehend.

Now, why don't you pick out one reason that you are thankful to God for one of the ways that He is working in your life. Next, go ahead and circle that reason in your Bible, then on the outside column put a date for this rememberance. now stop and give thanks to our Father in your own words of prayer.

My challenge to you is for you to tell another person in your life this reason for your rejoicing. Then, why not share that thought that has overjoyed your heart this day to your church family in your prayer group, or worship group.

You may think this a radical step to take, but look at verse 20 God even challenges the angels of heaven to offer praise to Him. "Praise the Lord, you angels," If He desires for the angels to offer praise, What should keep us from offering Him praise in our life?

SO GO WITH GOD my saint, Lift your voice in praises to God, for He is good, He is God, He is Holy, He is forgiving, He is worthy of our praise. Don't forget to pass these thoughts onto the others in your life.

By the way we have together prayed for Derek Kinnison to be returned to his family and we got word yesterday that He was returned to his family yesterday. Please be in prayer for him as he adjusts to his life here in Lake Elsinore. Welcome home Derek!!!
