Trivia:

What is Hawaii's most famous crop? Pineapple; Plum; Persimmon; Coconut; make your guess.

Challenge:

Psalm 18:31- 36 "For who is God except the Lord? Who but our God is a solid rock? God arms me with strength. and He makes my way perfect. He makes me as sure footed as a deer, enabling me to stand on mountains heights. He trains my hands for battle; He strengthens my arm to draw a bronze bow. You have given me your shield of victory. Your right hand supports me; your help has made me great. You have made a wide path for my feet to keep them from slipping.

In this passage David focuses the reasons that our trust is God is valid, and the reason for our confidence.

He is our solid rock - never wavering or confused

Gives strength to those who look to Him for strength

His course of action is always perfect (accurate) (time proves His way to be best)

He makes even the most precarious times in our lives to be stable

He takes the most difficult challenges and causes them to be upheld (even causing the most difficult

challenge to become possible)

He upholds my life with His favored hand

He causes even the weakest of person to be made strong, and powerful (prevailing)

Even when we are faced with seemingly impossible odds He gives strength to our feet

Now look back at that list of works that our Father can guide us through in our lifetime. These are why we can have confidence in even the most difficult, painful times.

Next look around you, what is the greatest challenge that you face today? __________________________

Is that encounter that lies before you too difficult for Him to carry you through? _____________________

Take a look at the promises that wisely Jeremiah brings to our attention in Jer. 9:24, "But those who wish to boast should boast in this alone: they they truly know me and understand that I am the Lord who demonstrates unfailing love and who brings justice and righteousness to the earth, and that I delight in these things, I, the Lord, have spoken!" (He has spoken His words of promise, comfort, healing, and confidence)

SO GO WITH GOD for as Jeremiah reminds us "we know ... the Lord". There is no circumstance that He is unwilling, or has failed to carry, strengthen, or guide us through up to this point. As the song goes, "Oh my loving brother, when the worlds on fire, don't you want God's bosom to be your pillow ... "

If you have a few minutes listen to this song O my lovin' brother. sung by Georgeeverly Shea. In this song he takes us through the challenges of these verse and then reminds of the comfort that only our Lord can bring to our lives.
