Hey, Do you know why you should never trust stairs? Well of course, because have you noticed "They are always up to something?". Oh, oh sorry about that.
Thursday 6/22
Prov. 31:25 "She is clothed with strength and dignity, and she laughs without fear of the future."
Now, lets think about these qualities that our Father points out to us that are vital for the virtuous woman to hold onto.
Strength - now we know that this isn't talking about physical strength, because none of the qualities
listed in this verse can be speaking of physical properties.
So we naturally ask, Just what is our Father talking about if its not about physical strength.
This verse is talking of an inner strength, confidence, willpower, self-discipline, fortitude,
to name just a few external evidences.
Dignity - Well now, just what does this mean? To come to the realization that each person in our
world, past, present or future, were born invaluable, important, and yes even, priceless. This
dignity is speaking of the realization or recognition that all of us are to be eternally
valuable/important.
Fearless - Displaying the ability to remain confident, unafraid, daunting, regardless of the unknown
events yet to be part of life. Paul demonstrated this fearlessness in Phil. 3:13 "Brethren, ...
this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those
things which are before."
Tomorrow we will spend some time in thinking about just how to put these clothes on in order to be this person that God challenges us to be throughout our lifetime.
This verse reminds me of a conversation with my dad, many years ago. In fact they were 50 years ago. I was 3,000 miles away from home, I was facing an entire year away from my family, with very few people who really knew me. It was Christmas time, I was alone, in a foreign country, the family that I had known from childhood who lived in town had left town to care for their daughter who had polio. Dad read for me this verse from Paul that I shared earlier with you. He read this verse, then he prayed with me, then due to the expense of that phone call we hung up. I was standing in the hallway holding the phone in that empty place feeling abandoned & alone, when from the loud speaker came these words. "I will never leave you nor forsake you." I felt such a calming, powerful inner resurgence of confidence that just poured over me.
It was inexplainable, in fact the only location to speak into the mic was in the deans office, it was locked up and no one was on campus. I to this day know that this must have been God speaking to me, His warming presence rested with me throughout that time in so many instances. So my dear one, He our Heavenly Father is living in us, around us, and when we desire through us.
Go WITH God for He can fill up your life with these very qualities spoken of in our verse for today. Strength, Dignity, Fearlessness are available to you TODAY if you only call on Him, rest in Him.
Amazing!
