Well happy Monday, a
brand new week. Yeah!!! Hey can you tell me, Why is money so stubborn? Because it doesn’t want to make change. Oh, that was bad, Oh well.
Our meditation today is Prov. 17:23 “The wicked take secret bribes to pervert the course of justice.”
The wording ”to pervert the course of justice” doesn‘t mean that their ultimate intention is to harm justice, but rather that when they take bribes it does result in justice being destroyed.
In our day we have seen the harm that comes to a family, city or community, or even a nation when bribes are taken as a normal course of practice.
One of our neighboring countries, has fallen into this practice as a normal course and the result has been corruption and ultimately total harm to everyone in that country.
For us to fail to uphold justice ourselves causes corruption and perversion to gain a prominent place in our lives. This in turn brings harm to those we love.
That is why Prov. 21:3 upholds this concept. “To do justice and judgement is more acceptable to the Lord than sacrifice.”
In other words, to accept bribes is an insult to God, look at Prov. 16:11 “The Lord demands accurate scales and balances; He sets the standards for fairness.” Our Father demands accurate measurements because He knows that when false weights of measurements are allowed then justice becomes skewed then that finally destroys the culture.
So Go With God and His ways of justice and you and everyone you come in contact with will be benefitted.
