Trivia:

The "Mikey Likes It" commercial was about "Life" cereal. This commercial ran for 13 years and his brothers were actually his, John Gilchrist's brothers. Though John worked on the movie "The Notebook" and "Speed 2" he has always been best known as Mikey the picky eater who liked Life cereal.

Challenge:

Psalm 9:11-12 "Sing praises to the Lord who reigns in Jerusalem. Tell the world about His unforgettable deeds. For he who avenges murder cares for the helpless. He does not ignore the cries of those who suffer."

In these two verses the Psalmist brings to our attention four reasons for us to honor and rejoice in the many works of God.

  1. He reigns in Jerusalem, you may ask what's the big deal about that? Well, for at least two reasons. One, too the extent that the Hebrew nation honored and followed after the Lord and His guidelines that was the extent that they were successful. Then secondly, due to the fact that they upheld justice for all, Jew or Gentile, Jerusalem became the place that its inhabitants regardless of citizenship they desired their legal cases to be heard there. Therefore, it's people would call for their. injustices to be heard; appealed and ruled on there. Kind of like our Supreme Court today.

  2. The God of Israel was dedicated to carry out unforgettable deeds. Time after time this nation of herdsman, and farmers were victorious over powerful, well organized and powerfully implemented armies. When they called upon God to be their God and Savior He led them to victory.

  3. He always was determined to uphold justice especially for the helpless, and innocent ones. Though many times the wealthy, influential citizen would have every advantage over those who were weak, He made sure that they were ruled in favor of over those with evil intent.

  4. Lastly, He is intent on hearing the cry of those who are suffering. Throughout the scripture God honors the mothers who are cognizant of their child who is calling out in pain. By this He is affirming that He also is intent on hearing the cry of anyone who is suffering. Sometimes, we may not feel that He is aware of our struggles, and in fact may be ignoring our pain, but this verse assures us that he hears and will intervene at the best time for everyone's benefit, especially the humble.

SO GO WITH GOD my Savior's child for He is always present, in judicial circumstances, or times when we need Him to intervene in our times of struggles, or when those with evil intentions are seeming to bring harm to our lives, or when we feel that no one hears or understands our pain.

In all of those times my dear one, He cares, protects, works, and rules over those events that seem to bring loss and hopeless circumstances. He is in the middle of those times of helplessness, intervening and caring for you. REST in that promise today, my dear one.

I only stand firm in this truth because He has always dealt in this way in my lifetime. If you have time today go to You Tube listen to Sandy Patty, Lionelle Harris - More than wonderful ... If you do I promise your heart will be ministered to.
