Prov. 30:24,25 :There are four things on earth that are small but unusually wise: Ants-they aren't strong, but they store up food all summer long."
Well, just what did the writer focus on as conduct that is wise? Imagine in all the world Agur pointed out the ant. Hum! What was the ant declaring? That's right diligence, he proves that being a creature fulfilling this characteristic of diligence demonstrates wisdom, rather than great strength.
Now he wasn't demeaning strength, for the ant has proven capable of carrying 10 times its body weight but the most important quality he points out is diligence, for without this the ant would perish. Strength alone wouldn't be enough.
We may ask why was diligence given such importance, even over great strength? That's Simple, because regardless of the ants strength, if he failed to be diligent, then he wouldn't survive in the cold months of the year.
If we will remember Prov. 6:6-8 spoke of this diligence along with their quality for colective cooperation.
Both of these characteristics brought benefit to everyone.
This focus brought us to the great insight of seemingly insignificant creatures bringing to the forefront significant lessons. This creature brought us to the one quality that helps us when facing difficulty (cold
weather) prepare for it, it is inevitable, so rather than living in fear, plan out solutions for going through it.
So Go With God for He knows the events of the future, and He will guide us through them, if we like the ant power through today & continue to follow Him through all of these ways. He promises to supply all of our needs, according to His resources (riches in glory) Phil. 4:19.
We'll see tomorrow how the length of reign of the kings proved this very same lesson.
