Well it’s Wednesday and so we hit midweek. I trust you are here to gain insights into the mind of God.

But first a humorous thought. What did the hungry Dalmatian say after he ate a meal? Wow, That hit the spots. Ok Ok that was a little weak. Another corny joke for my Dad-A-Base.

Todays meditation goes on from Prov. 19:4 to Prov. 19:7 “The relatives of the poor despise them; how much more will their friends avoid them! Though the poor plead with them, their friends are gone.”

This verse is a reflection of the unbelieving world, who have nothing to offer in word or deed when a person has hit rock bottom. (seeming hopeless harm)

Whether they are relatives or friends both attempt to stay away, and yes even apart from the grace & mercy of our Father.

While the believer needs to point the person in hard times to God’s love and their love for them.

Remember, the instruction in Prov. 17:17 “a brother is born to

help in time of need.” Prov. 18:24 “a real friend sticks

closer than a brother.”

The tendency of most earthly, unbelieving people is to ignore people that are helpless, or have become unable to help themselves.

The purpose of this verse is to help us to see what our role should be for those in hard times, either physically, emotionally, or mentally.

To help us recognize our role in a

needy world. 1) Draw close to hurting people

2) Listen to their cares &

complaints

3) Attempt to understand their

struggles

4) Try to administer reason &

assistance to their needs

Most of the times they are overwhelmed and feel there is no solution to their struggles. When we stop to listen (hear out their thinking), care (express our human participation with them), strive to understand their dilemma (stand with them in trials). Many times they will in the middle of this time of human communion, they will themselves come to some potential solution.

Just like a computer needs to be reset by turning it off & then turned back on to reorder the information we have dumped in it, then moved around & then added something totally unrelated to that present task.

In the same way, by restarting the poor and reasoning through the problems overwhelming them. Even assisting them to walk through a possible solution, this brings a seeming hope less situation into a hopeful conclusion.

Think for a minute about Lot’s dilemma, his friends listened, cared, then rather than assist him to move forward they cast possible blame on him, rather than move him to a potential solution. Though they directed him back to God they failed to remind him and share with him God’s desire & ability to help him through and in this disaster.

So Go With God and attempt to in the same way that we seek our Father’s direction in problems take part in sharing that same involvement with others. Due to the fact that we have become accustomed to running to the Father for help. Many others around us have never experienced this release. So take that opportunity to guide them in that simple exercise. Running to the Father, bury your face in His mighty embrace & then just rest in His care. It’s simple, and yet it is so foreign to our struggling world. Help acquaint them with this mind blowing exercise & then see it bring peace, comfort, yes, even transformation.
