Trivia:

Have you ever thought about just how much that billowy cloud over your head might weigh? Does it weigh 100 pounds; 20,000 pounds; 3.2 million pounds; or maybe 1.4 billion ponds. Why not make your guess and we'll learn more about this tomorrow.

Challenge:

Psalm 10:7-9 "Their mouths are full of cursing, lies, and threats. Trouble and evil are on the tips of their tongues. They lurk in ambush in the villages, waiting to murder innocent people. They are always searching for helpless victims. Like lions crouched in hiding, they wait to pounce on the helpless and drag them away in nets."

As we began to see the writers description of those who refuse to recognize God in any way in their lives. Today these verses continue to describing the ways of those who determine to follow after Satan and his ways.

Today we go further on to see just how this desire to walk away from God, affects these ones who have rebelled from living in God's ways. First off it impacts the way in which they speak, "cursing, lies, and threats" etc I don't know about you but this sort of impact isn't very attractive or desirable. Then "trouble and evil are on the tips of their tongue" yes, the very first words that slip out of their mouth are evil, hurtful, and destructive.

When these properties are laid out in their bare truth, they certainly aren't very attractive. You can then see just why they are conducting themselves in these next ways. "They lurk in ambush"; after, recognizing the evil that is being described to us we see just why their conduct is necessary. After all, who would be drawn to those who are clearly described in verse 7? "Waiting to murder innocent people" this description is certainly not very enticing.

Now verse 8 goes on further to describe the character traits of these ones who are taken over by our enemy Satan. They have become so warped by Satan that their presence is no longer desirable to those who are able to clearly recognize the outcomes.

We recognize just why they have fallen to such undesirable traits in their lives. They are drawn to these harmful tactics of ambushing, hiding, searching, crouching, pouncing, then enslaving those who are innocently present in their vicinity. We then recognize just how harmful and destructive that these evil ones influence are upon these innocent, helpless, victims.

SO GO WITH GOD my brother and sister and He will be present in your life to guard and guide you away from the evil ways of these rebellious ones who seek destruction in the lives of so many unknowing victims. This serious, truthful warning is laid out in these verses in order to help us to recognize the evil of Satan in our world, and just how simply following in their ways can bring harmful consequences to unsuspecting ones who are tricked, then captured by their conduct.

Oh yes, at first it seems so exhilarating, exciting, challenging, but then in time the truth seeps out to just how destructive this rebellious conduct is to all of those surrounding these evil ones.
