Trivia:

Well happy Wednesday my dear friends. Let's go back a few years to the 1950's. Do you know who was considered the "King of Comedy" in that time period? Was it Lanny Bruce, or George Burns, or Jerry Lewis, or maybe even Dean Martin. Make a guess and we'll find out the correct answer tomorrow.

Challenge:

Ecclesiastes 9:6 "Whatever they did in their lifetime-loving, hating, envying-is all long gone. They no longer play a part in anything here on earth."

Now in this verse Solomon is encouraging us to focus on the present days actions. Have you ever noticed just how easy it is to put off till tomorrow the things that are best done today.

It is easier to focus on those things that are urgent forgetting the things that are expedient. You know, telling others just how vital that they are in your life. Or that special impact that they have in your daily existence. Maybe it's just the confidence that they bring to you in times of uncertainty, or the courage they bring when fear has struck an overwhelming chord at the moment.

Maybe its the calmness that their very presence brings into your heart. These things many times though vital to your present demeanor have the tendency to be pushed off till later, to be expressed, but end up never being said.

Solomon is emphasizing the importance of pushing away, for just a seconds the urgent in order to express the expedient. As we walk through this life there are many words that are needed to be passed on, but yet fail to be given out due to our busy cadence of life. He is encouraging us to stop as it were, to smell the roses, that surround us in this busy life. Think to just enjoy these simple but none the less, vital to be communicated to those who have brought a great amount of influence in our lives.

So Go With God for He will quicken your thoughts to say those things which you mean to say but forget, or put off saying. His controlling presence in your life will guide you in so many ways. Don't cheat yourself by walking through life in your own strength my dear one. What a waste of joy, strength, and fulfillment, when we walk with Him so near us and yet we ignore Him and yet His assistance is right beside us. Oh my dear one, call on Him. This reminds me of the secular song "Call on me" that ends by repeating the words, Call me, Call me, Call me.

I love the many times we share in this daily post, me sharing dumb stuff, you answering back, most of the time with great intelligence, and then us together journeying through God's words to us for the day. Thank you for this special relationship that we enjoy together around humor and then a deeper time of hearing our Savior's words of encouragement.
